Summit Daily - Ellen Reid, executive director of the Keystone Science School, said the new platform could be a game-changer in that it can be updated and added to frequently and is likely to evolve in the future. “Having a resource guide that is able to be updated in real time and pretty quickly is one of the reasons we wanted to push this project forward,” Reid said.

Elementary after-school care programs preparing for a new school year
Summit Daily - The Keystone Science School and town of Breckenridge will have their after-school programs back in full swing this year, caring for elementary students across the county. The science school’s after-school program serves students on-site at the Dillon Valley, Frisco, Silverthorne and Summit Cove elementary schools. Keystone Science School staff go to the schools to coordinate and run the programs.

9 News - The Keystone Science School (KSS) in Summit County is celebrating 45 years of bringing outdoor science education to its students. The 23-acre campus was started in 1976 by Robert W. Craig. The year-round series of traditional day camps, overnight camps, discovery adventures, and expeditions focus on teaching scientific principles and leadership skills to students from Colorado and around the world.

Overnight summer camps return to Colorado
9 News - Keystone Science School (KSS) in Summit County is one of many institutions bringing back overnight camp programs this summer after canceling sessions due to COVID-19 last year. “I think we all hate the word ‘pivot’ now because we did lots of pivoting back and forth,” Dave Miller, Director of Marketing and Strategic Partnerships for KSS, told 9NEWS. “All of our programs right now are designed around COVID-19 risk management.”

Towns, groups prepare for summer camps with fewer restrictions
Summit Daily - Summer camps in Summit County are back and ready to run with some semblance of normalcy after the pandemic altered much of last year’s local programming. Keystone Science School is once again hosting overnight camp programs after only having day camps last year. Dave Miller, the school’s director of marketing and strategic partnerships, said the camp is following guidelines set by the Centers for Disease Control and Prevention and the local public health department in regard to COVID-19 protocols.
