Southwest Colorado Ecology
Experience a six-day overnight adventure exploring the incredible landscapes and cultural history of southwest Colorado. Through scenic hikes and ranger-led tours in Mesa Verde National Park, campers will take in breathtaking views and explore ancient cliff dwellings while learning about the people who called this region home. The adventure continue with rock climbing and whitewater rafting on the journey back to Summit County while learning about the ecology of the area.

Details on Beginning & End of Adventures
First Day: Join us at KSS campus for check-in and a Trip Briefing. We’ll review gear, prepare our packs, and head to our Adventure location, usually an hour or more of travel. Learn activity basics, enjoy dinner, and connect during our Evening Meeting.
Last Day: On the final day after activities are done, we’ll head back to KSS, and have our Pin Ceremony awards for camper achievements.

Admissions Process
We have implemented a more comprehensive admission process to ensure that each participant is placed in a program that is the best fit for that individual. Below are the steps for this process.

- Families will enroll in their preferred programs
- Families will receive a confirmation email to show that they have been placed in their intended session.
- Families will receive a form that is required to be completed by the participant via email.
- This form must be completed to ensure enrollment in the program
- Once the form is complete, the family will receive an email to schedule a phone call with a KSS staff member.
- A KSS staff member will call the parent/guardian. In this conversation the family has an opportunity to learn more about the program and for KSS to learn more about the participant and support them on their session(s). This conversation will help ensure that participants are enrolled in the most appropriate programming for the individual.
