    Twinkle Day Camp
    Ages 5 & 6

    New for 2018, Twinkle Day Camp features a different theme that speaks to the minds and imaginations of our youngest campers. Twinkle Day campers have the opportunity for more individual attention from our counselors and a schedule created with their energy and silliness in mind. Twinkle Day Campers participate in Adventure Days either on campus or in county.

    AGES 7-10

    At KSS, your child can transform into an inventor, a creator, or an explorer—complete with costumes, hands-on educational opportunities, outdoor adventures, and FUN! Stellar Day Camper's get to participate in different Adventure Days and have curriculum focused for older campers.

DAY CAMP SESSION 1: Rocky Mountain ROCKS! Don't Take it For-Granite

Dates: Monday, June 11 - Friday, June 15
Fee: $375     

Join us for a ROCKin' good time as we explore the wonders of the Rocky Mountain landforms and landscapes. This week we will enjoy a visit from a geologist.

Curriculum Focus: Geology

DAY CAMP SESSION 2: Pirates and Pixies
Dates: Monday, June 18 - Friday, June 22
Fee: $375  

Arrrr you ready for an arrrr-some time? This week we will explore the bottoms of lakes and rivers in Summit County and learn all about the critters within. After this week you’ll be hooked on aquatics.

Curriculum Focus: Aquatic Ecology

DAY CAMP SESSION 3: Play it Physic-COOL! Jump Around
Dates: Monday, June 25 - Friday, June 29
Fee: $375  

Jump up, jump up, and get down! In this week of fascinating physics, explore why things that jump up must come down. Don’t’ fight the MASS x ACCELERATION and let your inner nerd out. This week we will learn about Newton’s laws, gravity, and physics while we play on trampolines. Get ready for a visit from a high-flying friend!

DAY CAMP SESSION 4: Hunt for the Hot Pink Gorrilla
Dates: Monday, July 2 - Tuesday, July 3
Fee: $150     
PLEASE NOTE: This is a shorter session due to the July 4th holiday. There will be no overnight this session.  

Right down town and left on Main, a Hot Pink Gorilla was going insane! This week we will continue the search for this KSS legend. Will this be the year we finally catch the HPG? Campers will use the scientific process to investigate the elusive creature. Breckenridge Sheriff Department will be teaching us how to investigate and track down this hairy hot pink creature. Don’t miss out on this mysterious week of camp!

DAY CAMP SESSION 5: Race Through Space! A Cosmic Journey
Dates: Monday, July 9 - Friday, July 13 
Fee: $375    

Suit up and strap in for an adventure in a galaxy far, far away. Find the answers to all your night sky questions with our popular astronomy session. Join us as we learn about the planets, stars, black holes, and supernovas. This session will truly be out of this world!

DAY CAMP SESSION 6: Summit County Survivor
Dates: Monday, July 16 - Friday, July 20
Fee: $375

Over the hills and through the woods to KSS we go! Get into your best survivor mode as we learn about backcountry safety, compete in wilderness challenges, and redefine adventure. This week will also offer a Day Camp Challenge Hike, where campers can test out their new wilderness skills. For community day, Search and Rescue will be joining us. Don’t miss out on this popular week, it’s guaranteed to be s’more fun than ever!

Fee: $375    

Summit County’s very own ‘Garden of Intelligence’. Campers will learn the ins and outs of Summit County wildlife, discover what helps them live in this mountain environment, and gain more of an appreciation for our natural world. 

*Stellar's Community Day will be on Thursday this week.

DAY CAMP SESSION 8: A Prehistoric ShinDIG
Dates: Monday, July 30 - Friday, August 3
Fee: $375  

Imagine yourself amongst the tyrant lizards and the sneaky robbers of the crustaceous period! We’re Back! with this popular Day Camp session where campers will learn all about the Allosaurus, Triceratops, and our very own state fossil the Stegosaurus!

DAY CAMP SESSION 9: We Like to Move it, Move IT!
Dates: Monday, August 6 - Friday, August 10
Fee: $375

How fast can you run? How high can you jump? Will you leave camp with your name in the KSS record books? Join us this week as we explore the anatomy of the amazing human body. Our campers will know the difference between whoa and go foods and how the body works. This week is sure to be a hand above the ‘wrist’!

DAY CAMP SESSION 10: Celebration Sensation!
Dates: Monday, August 13 - Friday, August 17
Fee: $325 (Local) $375 (Non-Local)      
PLEASE NOTE: There is no Wednesday night overnight for this session. 

Celebrate good times, come on! In addition to celebrating the beautiful outdoors, campers will end each day with a unique party: luau out, a fiesta, and the all-time favorite everybody’s birthday. You won’t want to miss Keystone Science School biggest summer send off!

Curriculum Focus: Flora and Fauna     

Adventure Day: Twinkle: Breckenridge Gondola and Coaster, Stellar: Indoor Skydiving with iFly

What to Expect:

                         2 science 3 adventure




  • Twinkle: Ages 5-6
  • Stellar: Ages 7-10
  • Time: 8:00 AM to 5:00 PM Monday-Friday. Drop in each day, stay for the week, or participate all summer long.
  • Drop-off/Pick-up LocationsKSS Campus or Summit High School. Drop off is between 8:00 and 8:30am. Pick up is between 4:30 and 5:00pm.
  • Daily Fee: $75 per day, $375 per week.
  • Discounts: 5% multi-child and 5% multi-session discounts are available and will be added in automatically during registration. Financial aid is available to qualifying applicants.
  • Groups: Age- and grade-specific group programming; counselor/camper ratio is 1:6.5.
  • Activities: Curriculum-based discovery hike, adventure day, camper choice activities, station exploration, large-group games (options vary by session theme and availability).
  • Adventure Day: Options vary based on the session that you choose. Some adventures have a limited capacity. Register early to be guaranteed your first choice.
  • Wednesday Overnights: Experience a night away from home with an optional overnight. Overnights are $80 and include dinner, breakfast, and lunch the following day. Activities may include tie-dye, archery, and campfires. Available as an option during registration.
  • Family Night: KSS Campus, Thursdays at 5:00 PM. Join your camper for an activity and video slideshow at the end of the camp day (activities vary based on session).
  • Thursday Dress-up: Each Thursday we invite campers to show off their imagination and dress up in a costume connected to the theme for the week.
