Mission Moment – Girls in STEM: Medical Explorers 2025

_____________

What do you get when you combine curious minds, mock surgeries, high-tech robots, and a microscope or two? A weekend full of discovery, excitement, and hands-on science! Girls in STEM: Medical Explorers was a total hit, bringing together 4th–12th grade girls and non-binary participants for an unforgettable deep dive into the world of medicine.

Throughout the weekend, participants didn’t just learn about medical careers—they stepped into the operating room (well, sort of!). One of the highlights was performing a fake arthroscopy surgery, where they used real tools to simulate a knee procedure. Add in some microscope magic—looking at cells up close—and the chance to code and operate medical robots, and you’ve got a recipe for serious STEM inspiration.

From hands-on exploration to real-world career connections, every activity was designed to give these young medical explorers a taste of what it’s like to be a healthcare professional. And judging by the excitement in the room? We might just have some future doctors and biomedical engineers in the making.

🎥 Check out the video to see these incredible young scientists in action!

A huge thank you to our instructors, guest experts, and the participants who made this weekend unforgettable. We can’t wait to see where their curiosity takes them next!

You can now register for our next Girls in STEM program—Girls in STEM: Film Fest! Participants will learn how to write, film, and edit their own short films, and premiere them on the big screen. Don’t miss out on this chance to explore storytelling through science and creativity!
