Each session features professionals from a variety of fields, sharing their knowledge to help us better understand and appreciate the natural world. Through this series, we aim to inspire curiosity, foster education, and connect our community with experts who are passionate about the outdoors. Upcoming Speaker
Seeing Through the Eyes of a Wildfire Expert
May 5th
Presented by TEDxBreckenridge, in partnership with Keystone Science School and Summit Fire & EMS.
Join us for a fascinating look at wildfire — not just as a threat, but as a force our forests actually need.
We live in one of the most beautiful forested landscapes in the country — and one of the most fire-prone. But what if the fires we fear are also essential to the health of the ecosystems we love? This Salon explores the surprising science of wildfire: why forests evolved to burn, how fire shapes the ecology of our mountain communities, and how experts balance letting fire do its work while keeping structures and people safe.
Tickets cost: $10
