Girls in STEM: Film Fest
September 18-20, 2026
From captivating storytelling to the magic of cinematography and film editing, participants will hone their skills in every aspect of the filmmaking process. They will hear from inspirational women in all aspects of the film industry, sharing their triumphs and challenges in breaking barriers in a male-dominated field. Empower your child to script their own success story in STEM while unleashing their inner Greta Gerwig at the Girls in STEM: Film Festival!
Harvest Camp
October 15-18, 2026
Offered during fall break, Harvest Camp provides both day and overnight options for grades K-8. This camp is a chance for both new and returning campers to experience the wonders of autumn at KSS, celebrating the Halloween and Día de los Muertos seasons. Campers will explore the natural changes of fall, studying flora and fauna in transition, while engaging in hands-on activities that spark curiosity about the world around them. Harvest Camp is an excellent opportunity for children to build independence, foster a love of nature, and enjoy a safe, fun environment with new friends.
H2O Outdoors
November 4-6 2026
H2O Outdoors is a three-day, standards-based, educational program held at Keystone Science School. The program is open to all Colorado high school students and sponsored by Denver and Aurora Water. H2O Outdoors aims to help students understand the issues and questions surrounding Colorado’s water resources and how real-life decision-making processes work.
Campers in STEM: Astronomy
February 5th, 2027
Come spend the day learning about all things astronomy in Summit County! Open to 2-5th grade students, your campers will explore how bird migration is connected to dark night skies or learn how to make their own telescope. More details to come closer to the program!
Girls in STEM: Fire & First Responders
February 19th-21st, 2027
Firefighters play a highly specialized role in every town and city across the country, serving as first responders to both medical and fire emergencies. During this program, participants will learn about common medical emergencies and how firefighters are trained and equipped for rapid care. To experience a day in the life of this crucial role, participants will visit the High Country Training Center, where they will observe a variety of fire and medical response demonstrations!
Girls in STEM: Interstate Engineering
April 9th-11th, 2027
Many of us travel on I-70 to get to KSS, but have you ever wondered what it takes to keep the road maintained and safe year round? In this program, participants will explore the behind-the-scenes work of CDOT’s maintenance team. We’ll dive into careers that focus on engineering, chemistry, logistics, and data-driven decisions to keep 144 miles of high-altitude highway safe.

Summer camp at Keystone Science School is all about adventure, discovery, and unforgettable memories! Campers spend their days exploring the great outdoors, learning cool science, and building lifelong friendships.
Outdoor Education Field Trips
All Year Long
KSS is proud to provide schools with unique overnight field trips that combine Science, Adventure, and Fun! Each outdoor education and environmental education field trip we create is tailored to the goals of each participating school. Located in a high mountain environment outside Denver, our classroom is the forest, streams, and alpine tundra where students can be outside and adventuring.
